One such prediction highlights the the fact that companies will be redesigning the methods of acquiring  new talent and how they leverage network recruiting.  According to Bersin, the world of recruiting is dramatically changing. “At a high level, the world of recruiting is shifting from that of ‘traditional recruiting’ to what we think of as ‘network recruiting.’ Our company and brand extends into a network of candidates, potential candidates, employees, contractors and corporate alumni,” he says.
A key factor in recruiting this year will be leveraging external and internal networks. Bersin suggests using “your employees and alumni for referrals; tap into professional groups, universities and industry groups that align with your company and build relationships with these groups that will bring top candidates to you.”
In addition, using your brand to build a strong relationship with hiring managers and a strong candidate pool will be two very important factors in recruiting this year. There is tremendous transparency in the job market due to the dozens of online job networks, therefore, employers are no longer in a position of power. Candidates can quickly discern whether your company is a desirable place to work. They can quickly assess your work conditions, managers and even how interviews are conducted simply by researching professional networks. According to Bersin, in the world we live in, “the concepts of ’employment brand’ and ’employee engagement’ have merged. Employees communicate your brand externally everyday, whether you like it or not.”
In today’s marketplace, it is becoming more and more important for your organization to develop comprehensive talent acquisition strategies that not only unify business goals and talent aspirations, but do so using today’s technology for recruiting talent.  Bersin believes, these new platforms “almost totally replace legacy systems, have built-in tools to leverage networks, explode referral marketing and more easily create candidate marketing programs.” One employer actively reviewed candidates whether they had a position open or not. This is a great strategy.
At the end of the day, finding the right individuals who will transform your company is every employer’s goal. The reality is that we now live in a new world of life and work- one where work, home, family and personal lives are interconnected in a real-time way. Changes in technology have come together to redefine the entire nature of how we conduct business. So if it has been awhile since you have looked at your talent acquisition strategy there is no better time than now.
