Since signed into law in 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) has governed large scale healthcare reform. The goal was to make health insurance both more affordable and accessible to all Americans. This was achieved through the creation of Health Insurance Exchanges, premium tax credits for households, and expanding the Medicaid program. Additionally, it enacted a handful of regulations on certain businesses to mandate coverages for employees. Since then, ACA compliance has become the headache of the HR department. Requirements
