As a boutique Managed Services Provider (MSP), they offer human-driven services and white-glove treatments for their clients while alleviating administrative burden and managing day-to-day tasks of the HR department. They managed both ADP Workforce Now and Paylocity HCMs for their clients.

There are bound to be several discrepancies in service model offerings when comparing one of the oldest and most experienced HROs with a brand-new outsourced service.
Paylocity Elevate Solutions As stated in the introduction, Paylocity Elevate Solutions is a brand-new HRO offering. While this means a lot of different things, most importantly it signifies that their platform is likely to go through many transformations and iterations in the coming years. Currently, they offer fully outsourced payroll management, and, according to their own website, HR services that include data audits, compliance guidance, policy development and best practices. They do not offer benefits administration or support of any kind.

However, Paylocity currently sells Elevate Solutions as an extension of their HCM software rather than a standard-alone service.
Corban OneSource Not developing and offering proprietary software is not necessarily disadvantageous. Following a “no one size fits all” approach means that Corban OneSource can find the HCM provider that best fits your business, and after nearly three decades of experience, they fully know the capabilities of all vendors. As an MSP, Corban OneSource fully manages the routine HR tasks in your HCM, removing your need to even use it. Plus, their teams will handle all technical support on your behalf.
What this means: Paylocity Elevate Solutions are experienced at using their top-rated software, because they sell software first and HRO services second. They promise to remove your administrative burden and offer customer representatives for your staff that feel like a part of your team rather than an outsourced vendor.
Corban OneSource Experienced in all things compliance, Corban OneSource is the first to recognize new compliance items affecting HR and implements these into current or new processes. Everything from updating taxation tables to ACA reporting and more, support teams ensure you never have to worry about falling out of compliance. Dedicated customer representatives can be reached through the HEROES team and offer customized prompts and deliveries to your employees.
What this means: Paylocity Elevate Solutions offer some form of compliance-related services to you, but lack of experience and vague descriptions leave some doubt. Corban OneSource offers a robust and fully enforced package of HR services and compliance that keep you confident about your programs beginning on day one.
What is the primary difference between Corban OneSource and Paylocity Elevate Solutions?
There are numerous large differences between Corban OneSource and Paylocity Elevate Solutions. These include experience, service offerings, reliability, and authority. Paylocity Elevate Solutions is in its infancy, and the intricacies surrounding human resources are large. There is steep learning curve the service faces. It takes years of training, certification, and on-the-job experience for HR leaders to mature into their own and take the reins of an HR department. To offer authority in the sphere as a service provider means hitting many roadblocks and navigating large challenges while the solution evolves over time. Is this a provider that could meet your needs?
Paylocity as an HCM is an extremely reputable software, there is no doubt about it. In fact, we both recommend and implement this technology with our partners. There is no doubt that they can also manage payroll – part of their core message and specialty. However, the sphere of HR compliance extends well beyond payroll. Benefits, which is a service not offered by Paylocity Elevate Solutions, has measures in ACA reporting, FMLA, leaves of absence, and so on. You must be prepared to ask how Paylocity intends to manage these compliance features within its HR service model.
Additionally, Paylocity Elevate Solutions remains rather vague about its HR service offerings. While they effectively note how they actively manage your administrative burden, taking the same exact words from Corban OneSource, they do not actively list features within the service, nor do they offer information as to the capabilities of their customer service team. With Corban OneSource, you are going to get a fully functioning, customized, white-glove treatment that truly acts as an extension of your HR department.
Finally, Paylocity Elevate Solutions cannot be branded as an HRO (and it does not appear that they do so). Without the benefits piece, they are offering a fully outsourced payroll service with some additional HR advisory guidance. Of course, there is nothing wrong with this, but if you are looking for more than managed payroll, you will have to look elsewhere for a partner that manages all components of your HR department.

Paylocity offers a fantastic product with the HCM technology for midsized businesses everywhere. Moving into outsourced HR services, however, leaves a lot to be desired.
